Basketball Recap: Randle Piles Up the Points Against Victoria West

Randle waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Victoria West Warriors 85-52. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Warriors are ranked 808th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Randle to victory were Isaac Hughes and Wayne Kelly. Hughes went 7-for-10 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds, while Kelly dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Those 18 points gave Hughes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Anunne, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 16 points.

Randle was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Randle pushed their record up to 20-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Victoria West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.

Randle has already played their next contest, a 73-52 win against Waltrip on the 18th. Victoria West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
