Basketball Recap: Walter Northway Comes Up Short

Walter Northway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 78-65 to the Effie Kokrine Charter Warriors. That's two games in a row now that Walter Northway has lost by exactly 13 points.

Effie Kokrine Charter had a senior duo take command as Jonas Carroll posted 31 points and Jeffery Frank scored 24 points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Strom, who earned nine points.

Walter Northway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Effie Kokrine Charter, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walter Northway will head out to challenge Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Effie Kokrine Charter, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tok on January 24th.
