Firestone and Cuyahoga Falls are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Falcons will welcome the Black Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Firestone's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Firestone barely beat Western Reserve Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Pioneers on Wednesday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.
Nate Plas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Another player making a difference was Malcolm Bufford, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Firestone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Falls fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Copley on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 11-9. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Black Tigers' highest-scoring contest to date.
Braylon Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Luke, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Firestone has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-12.
