Softball Recap: Wharton Gets the Win

Wharton's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Chamberlain Storm by a score of 5-1. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won five in a row.

Eliza Connell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adriana Cadicamo, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Bass, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wharton's record is now 8-9. As for Chamberlain, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Wharton has already played their next game, an 11-5 victory against Alonso on the 10th. As for Chamberlain, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Riverview on the 10th.
