Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Raiders vs. Pinecrest Patriots

Richmond is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Pinecrest is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Richmond Raiders just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Pinecrest Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Pinecrest likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Richmond strolled past Lee County with points to spare, taking the game 76-60.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest beat Union Pines 67-56 last Friday.

Pinecrest's win came from a few key players Richmond will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zymire Spencer, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 17 points along with six assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavarus McLaughlin, who posted ten points and three steals.

Pinecrest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
