Softball Recap: Westerly's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Westerly can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the East Providence Townies. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 victory the Townies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2016.

Addison Poole was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Bella Mazzarese, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Westerly lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Westerly picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-7. As for East Providence, their record now sits at 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westerly will head out to face off against South Kingstown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for East Providence, they are taking a road trip to square off against North Kingstown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Townies are facing the Skippers at the right time seeing as the Skippers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
