Recap: Roosevelt vs. McKinley

Roosevelt won the last time they met up with McKinley, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Roosevelt made easy work of McKinley on Friday and carried off a 39-6 victory. Followers of Roosevelt probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.

After a totally unproductive first quarter, the Roosevelt offense stepped up its game and put 14 points on the board in the second quarter. Meanwhile, McKinley couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 14-0 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Roosevelt in the second half and held McKinley to 6 points. The win bumped Roosevelt's record up to 7-1. The loss dropped McKinley's record to 2-6.

Next week Roosevelt take on Pearl City at 7:30 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both of those teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for McKinley, they will face off against Waialua. Waialua are limping into the game on a seven-game losing streak.
