Basketball Recap: West Lafayette Red Devils vs. Benton Central Bison
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the West Lafayette Red Devils can now relate to. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bison. West Lafayette's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
West Lafayette lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Molly Andrew, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Andrew is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. Sarah Werth was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
West Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Benton Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.
West Lafayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Benton Central and the Knights will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Norwell is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
