Baseball Recap: Galax Maroon Tide vs. Fort Chiswell Pioneers
Galax extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-14. They lost 13-6 to the Fort Chiswell Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroon Tide of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Cayden Underwood made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Trey Markham was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
As for Fort Chiswell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
