Spanish Fort faced Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Spanish Fort fell just short of Central by a score of 3-2. The Toros' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Cayden Dorger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Maddie Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Haley Hart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
