Softball Recap: McDowell Trojans vs. Corry Beavers
McDowell took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Corry Beavers a 10-0 shutout.
Gabriella Deluca made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Deluca was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Isabelle Nageli was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Emma Mickel was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

McDowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Corry's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Coming up, McDowell will take on Pike County Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corry, they will head out to challenge Girard at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Corry their first taste of in-conference action this season.
