Basketball Game Preview: Pueblo County Hornets vs. Pueblo Central Wildcats

Pueblo County is 0-10 against Pueblo Central since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pueblo County Hornets will head out to take on the Pueblo Central Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Pueblo County turned things around against Pueblo Centennial on Friday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 58-50.

Meanwhile, Pueblo Central can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 64-56 victory over Pueblo South.

Pueblo County better focus on containing Ladamien Davis and Tayvon Evans as the pair were huge in Pueblo Central's win. Davis almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards, while Evans went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrin Hemphill, who posted eight points.

The win got Pueblo Central back to even at 7-7. As for Pueblo County, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9.

Pueblo County suffered a grim 56-36 defeat to Pueblo Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Pueblo County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
