            Softball Recap: Edsel Ford Thunderbirds vs. Roosevelt Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Edsel Ford had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-4 to make it nine. They lost  16-1 to the Roosevelt Bears. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their  loss to the Bears from their previous meeting  back in May of 2024.
As for Roosevelt, the  victory was  the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven  runs or more this season.
For Roosevelt's part,  Shaylan Gourlay and  Ellie Isenegger made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing,  Gourlay   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Isenegger   tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat,  Gourlay  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run, while  Isenegger  went 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. That  triple was  Isenegger's first of the season.
 In other batting news, Roosevelt got a  massive  performance out of  Grace Papler, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  doubles.  Ava Cerda also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Edsel Ford will  challenge  rival Taylor  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Allen Park  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Bears 3.5, the Jaguars 3.6) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
