Softball Recap: Monticello Drops Season-High Score on Watson Chapel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monticello). They were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Watson Chapel Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Billies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Monticello let Eden Greene and Addi Frazer run wild. Greene scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Frazer scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Greene has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Lyle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Monticello always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Monticello back to even at 6-6. As for Watson Chapel, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monticello will face off against Star City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Watson Chapel, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Watson Chapel Wildcats face off against Hamburg Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
