Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Dragons vs. Seymour Eagles

The Clinton Dragons will face off against the Seymour Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Seymour will come in with three straight wins.

On Tuesday, Clinton came up short against Anderson County and fell 12-7.

Meanwhile, Seymour's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Cocke County a 10-0 shutout. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 24-3).

Reece Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tayfur Caldwell was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylon Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Seymour's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
