Baseball Recap: Hitchcock Bulldogs vs. Brazosport Christian Eagles
Hitchcock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Brazosport Christian Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly four runs.
Hitchcock got a good showing from Jayden Ochoa, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Hitchcock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolten Cantrell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jose Gonzales also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Hitchcock's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Brazosport Christian, their record is now 3-8.
Hitchcock wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Lamar Consolidated on the 8th. Brazosport Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Angleton at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
