Salem and Lord Botetourt are an even 4-4-2 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Spartans will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Lord Botetourt took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Salem, who comes in off a win.

Salem's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over William Byrd. Salem haven't had any issues with William Byrd recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Salem hit William Byrd with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Logan Lavinder (2), Anthony Rugama (2), Elijah Clark, and Graham Cross.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Lord Botetourt was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Christiansburg. The loss put an end to Lord Botetourt's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lord Botetourt fell to 2-1. As for Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Salem took their win against Lord Botetourt when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
