Softball Game Preview: Brooke Bruins vs. Harrison Central Huskies

The Brooke Bruins are taking a road trip to challenge the Harrison Central Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Brooke is looking for their season's first win.

Brooke came up short against Poland Seminary on Saturday, falling 12-1.

Brooke saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilee McKinney, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that McKinney hit this season.

Meanwhile, Harrison Central started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Oak Glen. They lost 7-1 to the Golden Bears on Friday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harrison Central's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2. As for Brooke, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Brooke's way against Harrison Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Brooke made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brooke since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
