When LeBron James finishes up his athletic career, he might look to Willie McGee for a little work.

No, not the former National League baseball MVP Willie McGee, but the one who played with James at St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, Ohio) and won three state titles.

McGee has been hired to coach East (Akron, Ohio), the public school he would have attended had he not attended St. Vincent-St. Mary.

East won just one game last season, which is in stark contrast to when St. Vincent-St. Mary won state crowns in 2000, 2001 and 2003 and a mythical national crown in 2003.

McGee is considered one of the team's Fab Five, which also included Dru Joyce III, Romeo Travis and Sian Cotton. The lifelong friends were inducted into the STVM Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.

The fivesome was featured in the 2008 documentary, "More Than a Game," and Cotton has apparently moved on to a prolific rap career.

McGee told Cleveland.com that his high school days were treasured and he just wants to pay it forward.

"I'm trying to help the kids as much as I can — first in the classroom and secondly on the court," he said. "Players don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. … I'm trying to get kids the opportunity to get kids on to college."
