Baseball Recap: Willow Spring Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Willow Spring ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Jordan Falcons. The victory was nothing new for the Storm as they're now sitting on three straight.

Braedon Marsh tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rylan Sherrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Willow Spring: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 8-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Rice, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Willow Spring lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.

Willow Spring's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Jordan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8.

As of now, neither Willow Spring nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
