Baseball Recap: West Springfield Falls Short Against Ranked James Madison

West Springfield faced James Madison in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans fell 17-14 to the Warhawks. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Warhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Springfield fell to 10-1. As for James Madison, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Springfield will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Lake Braddock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for James Madison, they will be playing at home against South Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Warhawks' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Seahawks have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
