It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Elwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lawrence Central Bears, sneaking past 11-10. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Elwood got a massive performance out of Kelsey Armes, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Armes a new career-high. Taylor Hawks was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
