Shafter had won three straight games and Mariyon Sloan did his part to make it four on Friday. The Generals enjoyed a cozy 42-25 win over the Edison Tigers thanks in part to Sloan, who rushed for 282 yards and five scores while picking up 14.8 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards.
Shafter's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Edison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shafter will host St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
