Recap: Buckeye Bucks vs. Lutheran West Longhorns
The Buckeye Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-42 to Lutheran West. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Buckeye of the 33-21 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.
Despite the loss, Buckeye still got an impressive performance from Kwynn Czerwony, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Ruby Hudak was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Even though they lost, Buckeye were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Buckeye's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-14. As for Lutheran West, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckeye will take on Elyria Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elyria Catholic is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Lutheran West, they will head out on the road to take on Cornerstone Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
