Ceres picked up another tournament win on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Berkeley Yellowjackets. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Elizabeth Figueroa made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Emma Hernandez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Bravo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Ceres was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Ceres is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Berkeley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Ceres didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 win against Beyer on the 28th. Berkeley has also already played their next game (against Hayward), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
