Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jefferson County can now relate to. They came up short against the Wewahitchka Gators on Tuesday, falling 30-10. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson County lost, don't look at Tniah Dunlap. Despite the final result, she dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 steals. Dunlap is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zykeria Andrews, who posted nine points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Jefferson County was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Wewahitchka, their record is now 4-11.

Jefferson County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-23 defeat against Franklin County on the 6th. Wewahitchka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
