Volleyball Recap: La Porte Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crown Point, La Porte was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Portage Indians by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Slicers: when they faced off against the Indians back in March, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

La Porte was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (90-88), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 13-25, 25-20.

La Porte found their leader in sophomore Slade Rain, who had 21 digs and two aces. Those 21 digs set a new season-high mark for Rain.

La Porte's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for Portage, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

La Porte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Michigan City on the 28th. As for Portage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Lake Central on the 28th.
