Football Game Preview: Plano Reapers vs. Johnsburg Skyhawks

The Plano Reapers are taking a road trip to take on the Johnsburg Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plano comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Plano was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Woodstock.

Although Plano took the loss, they still got scores from Kolten Schimandle and Isaac Uhrich.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere two yards per carry. The team can thank Jacob Benitez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Plano; they were averaging 3.7yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 1.6 per game.

Meanwhile, Johnsburg never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 28-0 win over Marengo. The game was the first time the Skyhawks have beaten the Indians on their field since October 20, 2017.

Johnsburg's win came from a few key players Plano will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Duke Mays, who rushed for 75 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryan Franze, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Johnsburg, their record now sits at 4-2.
