Baseball Recap: Milpitas Gets the Win

Milpitas proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lynbrook Vikings, sneaking past 3-2. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Joey Gonzalez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Alfaro, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Milpitas' record now sits at 8-9. As for Lynbrook, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milpitas will welcome Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Matadors have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Lynbrook, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Saratoga at 4:00 p.m.
