Baseball Recap: Racine Case Takes a Loss

Racine Case extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-14. They came up short against the Indian Trail Hawks, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 on Tuesday.

As for Indian Trail, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Considering they have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Indian Trail's part, Matthew Baumann tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Baumann has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacob Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Zeller, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

While Racine Case had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
