Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson fell victim to Hughes Springs and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Mustangs. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Hughes Springs, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jefferson will challenge rival Daingerfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hughes Springs is set to square off against their familiar foe New Diana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2, the Eagles 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
