Volleyball Recap: Newton Local Takes a Loss

Newton Local was the 3-0 winner over Mississinawa Valley when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blackhawks on Saturday.

Emma Rapp paced Newton Local's offense, picking up six kills. Rapp got some help from Aubrey Stetzel and her nine assists. Stetzel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Newton Local's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mississinawa Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Newton Local will challenge National Trail at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Blazers at the right time seeing as the Blazers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mississinawa Valley, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Preble Shawnee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Blackhawks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
