Basketball Game Preview: Lathrop Malemutes vs. North Pole Patriots

Lathrop hasn't had much luck against North Pole recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Lathrop Malemutes will jump right back in to play the North Pole Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Lathrop will be strutting in after a win while North Pole will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Lathrop blew past West Valley, posting a 60-19 victory. The Malemutes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-26, which was the final score in North Pole's tilt against Juneau-Douglas on Saturday. The Patriots have struggled against the Crimson Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Lathrop's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for North Pole, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Lathrop came up short against North Pole in their previous meeting back in January, falling 40-28. Can Lathrop avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
