Softball Recap: Tonopah Valley Wins Going Away Against Glendale Prep Academy

Tonopah Valley's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins 20-6. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 9, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Tonopah Valley got a massive performance out of Ellie Procunier, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Procunier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Eaton, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4.

Tonopah Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glendale Prep Academy only posted a batting average of .263.

Tonopah Valley's record now sits at 4-5. As for Glendale Prep Academy, their record is now 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonopah Valley will host Highland Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Highland Prep has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something Tonopah Valley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against Camp Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Camp Verde will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Glendale Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
