Volleyball Recap: Charleston Collegiate's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Charleston Collegiate entered their tilt with Faith Christian on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Sundevils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Charleston Collegiate never let Faith Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 29-27, 25-16.

Charleston Collegiate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evie Baslow led the charge by getting 13 kills, six digs, five aces, and two blocks. Baslow is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Vika Vuyiv was another key player, getting nine kills and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Charleston Collegiate was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in eight consecutive matches.

The win got Charleston Collegiate back to even at 6-6. As for Faith Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Charleston Collegiate and Faith Christian will both be playing Cathedral Academy the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Sundevils will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
