Basketball Recap: Herculaneum Comes Up Short

Herculaneum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 65-47 to the Jefferson Blue Jays. While losing is never fun, the Black Cats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while the Blue Jays are ranked 278th).

Herculaneum's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Jefferson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Herculaneum will look to defend their home court on Monday against Northwest at 8:30 p.m. Herculaneum is facing Northwest at the right time seeing as Northwest is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jefferson, they will head out to challenge Valle Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
