The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike Liberal Arts is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Pike Liberal Arts' hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past Luverne's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.
Mary Holland Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Camryn Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Sarah Strickland also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Lee-Scott Academy earned an 8-3 victory over Dadeville on Monday.
Railey Langford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Emmie Hartzog was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Ansley Tate was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Lee-Scott Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Pike Liberal Arts, their record now sits at 8-9.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pike Liberal Arts hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Lee-Scott Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .334. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pike Liberal Arts couldn't quite finish off Lee-Scott Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 12-10. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
