Glen Rose proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Mayflower Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Beavers have posted against the Eagles since April 4, 2016.

P. Long was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. W Aaron also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Glen Rose's record is now 8-6. As for Mayflower, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Glen Rose will take on Arkansas Christian Academy on Saturday. As for Mayflower, they will be playing at home against Guy-Perkins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
