Baseball Recap: Hillside Comes Up Short

Hillside was the 13-3 winner over Newark Central when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Comets came up short against the Blue Devils on Friday, falling 14-5. Comets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Blue Devils since Friday.

Hillside's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Newark Central, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.

Looking ahead, Hillside will head out to face off against McNair Academic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newark Central, they will host Franklin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
