Basketball Recap: Poly Takes a Loss

Poly lost against Torrey Pines back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears took a 70-51 bruising from the Falcons.

Tevaris Green was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 33 points and nine rebounds for Torrey Pines. Those 33 points gave Green a new career-high. Jaylan Virgil was another key player, going 5-for-9 on his way to 17 points.

Poly now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Torrey Pines, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poly will face off against Murrieta Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Torrey Pines, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tri-City Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
