Basketball Recap: Rivercrest Takes a Loss

Rivercrest lost against Batesville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Colts were dealt a 68-41 defeat at the hands of the Pioneers. The Colts were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Armani Facon, who posted 12 points along with four steals and three blocks. Facon is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ella Gonzalez was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Rivercrest and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Batesville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Rivercrest will head out to square off against Newport at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Batesville will take on Jonesboro in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
