Recap: Alpaugh Buffalos vs. Laton Mustangs
The Alpaugh Buffalos's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Laton and snuck past 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Alpaugh has posted yet this season.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Johnathan Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Garcia scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jaythan Garcia, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Alpaugh has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Laton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alpaugh will take on Riverdale Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tranquillity at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Tranquillity is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
