Baseball Game Preview: Monsignor Pace Spartans vs. Palmetto Panthers

The Monsignor Pace Spartans will face off against the Palmetto Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monsignor Pace will be strutting in after a win while Palmetto will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Monsignor Pace got the win against West Boca Raton by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Kyle Fernandes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Robert Kramer was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, he also posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Yuniel Paredes was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Monsignor Pace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Boca Raton only posted an OBP of .308.

Meanwhile, Palmetto fell victim to Columbus and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Explorers, falling 10-0. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Monsignor Pace now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Palmetto, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Monsignor Pace couldn't quite finish off Palmetto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can Monsignor Pace avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
