Basketball Recap: Western Plains Sets Scoring Season-High Against Moscow

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western Plains). They walked away with a 50-40 win over the Moscow Wildcats on Tuesday.

Madelyn Kraus was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Western Plains is 2-1 when Kraus posts eight or more boards, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chloe Briand, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and five assists.

Western Plains was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The victory got Western Plains back to even at 4-4. As for Moscow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Western Plains Bobcats face off against the Cheylin Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Moscow has already played their next matchup (against Wichita County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
