Recap: Kennedy Commanders vs. Hinkley Thunderbirds

The Kennedy Commanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their tough 79-55 defeat to Hinkley might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Despite the defeat, Kennedy had strong showings from Quinn Padilla, who scored 14 points along with six steals, and Anthony Zink, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ki'marri Dotson, who scored five points along with two steals.

Kennedy's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Hinkley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will face off against Denver North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Denver North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Hinkley, they will head out on the road to challenge Rangeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rangeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
