Softball Recap: Somers Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Somers entered their tilt with Westlake on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. Considering the Tuskers have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mia DiChiaro made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Cole, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Alyssa Pirraglia was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Somers' win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Westlake, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Somers will be playing at home against Ardsley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tuskers 2.2, the Panthers 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Westlake, they will challenge Pelham Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
