Baseball Game Preview: Perry Pumas vs. Basha Bears

For the second straight game, Perry will face off against Basha. The Pumas will be playing at home against the Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Perry and Basha, and Basha kept the tradition alive. The Pumas fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-4 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Pumas have lost by just one run.

For Basha's part, Ryan Bresaw tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Bresaw also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Bears are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Cantu, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Perry's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Basha, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5-1.
