Softball Recap: Laguna Creek's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Laguna Creek entered their tilt with Folsom on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 12-7 win over the Bulldogs. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 7-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Aundrea Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Laguna Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Folsom only posted a batting average of .290.

The victory got Laguna Creek back to even at 8-8. As for Folsom, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-2.

Laguna Creek and Folsom could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Cardinals will take on Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (352 vs. 174). Meanwhile, Folsom (ranked 143rd) will meet Rocklin (ranked 14th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
