Basketball Recap: Twin Lakes Falls Despite Big Games from Taylor Oliver and Addyson Hines

Twin Lakes fought the good fight in their overtime game against North White on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North White Vikings. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Addyson Hines and Taylor Oliver certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hines posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Oliver earned 17 points along with eight boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Oliver has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Crickette Draghici, who had two points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Twin Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

North White's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Hunt, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 26 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Autumn Reif, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Twin Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for North White, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-12 record this season.

Twin Lakes is taking a road trip to square off against Culver Academies at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for North White, they will be playing at home against DeMotte Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
