Basketball Recap: Bay City Gets the Win

Bay City lost to Columbia back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bay City Blackcats pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over the Columbia Roughnecks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bay City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Estrada, who went 13 of 20 on his way to 28 points and seven boards. Estrada continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Javius Andrews, who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points and four steals.

Bay City's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Columbia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Bay City will look to defend their home court on Friday against Brazosport at 7:30 p.m. Bay City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. As for Columbia, they are taking a road trip to face off against La Marque at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (La Marque has four straight victories, Columbia has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
